The idea for a Badin Museum came into being when Alcoa donated its original Rent Office building to the town. In the fall of 1998, under the auspices of Better Badin, a steering committee began work on plans for the museum, and in May of 1999, the building was moved to a new location in the Badin Memorial Park. Badin Firehouse Museum

In 2003 Badin Historic Museum, Inc., purchased a small lot adjacent to the proposed quadruplex museum. Again with the help of generous donors, with grants, and through fundraising, the Firehouse Musuem was created. A team of volunteers led by David Summerlin, Jim Harrison, and Larry Drye, did much of the work. 704-422-6900 Open: Sundays 2 – 5 pm; Tuesdays 9 am – 12, 1 – 3 pm Admission Free.

The Town of Badin is located in Stanly County about 45 miles northeast of Charlotte, NC, and 65 miles south of Winston-Salem, and near Morrow Mountain State Park. The museum is located at 60 Falls Road. Take NC 740 to Badin and turn east on Falls Road. Continue past the post office, and the museum is at the fork in the road at Pine Street. When a run-down quadruplex unit across from the Badin Historic Museum became available, volunteers decided it would make a good museum. In 2003 Badin Historic Museum, Inc., purchased the unit, called an apartment by locals.
