These riders, once not even considered worthy of a training ride, are about to steal the day." - Phil Liggett. Sunday, September 9, 2012. Finally, a reason to blog. Two reasons, really. I am usually not a big fan of the road bike for purposes other than maintaining fitness. I find mountain biking more fun and certainly more scenic. Here's the endless loop I hear on most road rides:. Just hang on to that wheel. God I'm sick of that jersey. Just hang on to the wheel. Brrrppp.I can taste breakfast. Bike It ...

These riders, once not even considered worthy of a training ride, are about to steal the day." - Phil Liggett. Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Charmed, I'm sure. Charm City weekend has come and gone and again has recommited me to this crazy sport of cross. I love being part of the northern faction of Charm City Cycling and enjoyed camping out with teammates Deirdre, Jameson, Jake and Alyssa (you're part of the team- no way out, pal). What every weekend at 10:57am looks like. Thanks to teammates Monkey and D...

These riders, once not even considered worthy of a training ride, are about to steal the day." - Phil Liggett. Monday, March 28, 2011. Clearly not from around here. So I jetted off to Belgium this weekend to participate in a brevet / cylcosportive ride called L'Enfer d'Hunterdon, where I encountered 77 miles of cycling heaven! Bikers means cyclists, right? Okay, so it wasn't really Belgium it was Lambertville, NJ. But it sure felt exotic! Who let this crowd in? Sally finds the soda. Links to this post.

These riders, once not even considered worthy of a training ride, are about to steal the day." - Phil Liggett. Sunday, December 26, 2010. Boxing Day at Belmont. A crisp and dry 10:30am start evolved into a frosty finish by the time I arrived home at 2:15pm. I had considered driving to the ride, but realized that I wouldn't be able to live with the ignominy. Our little group before the flakes arrived. Damien, D Lowe. Paying homage to the goat. Links to this post. Sunday, December 19, 2010. Yesterday en ro...

These riders, once not even considered worthy of a training ride, are about to steal the day." - Phil Liggett. Sunday, May 29, 2011. Everything is better with bacon and bikes. Bacon does make everything taste better. And biking makes life better regardless of temporary setbacks and disappointments. The wallowing is over! I hadn't really ridden since Granogue, and I was beginning to spend an unnatural amount of time on the couch. Enough is enough. Baby geese- a nice element of spring. Robert, Frankie, M, ...

These riders, once not even considered worthy of a training ride, are about to steal the day." - Phil Liggett. Sunday, February 13, 2011. Au dela d'un reve. M and George prepare for a frigid ride. I'm sticking with cause. Kim, Rosie and Sally. The girls and George departed at the top of Bryn Mawr Avenue, so the rest of us followed Sally on a truncated version of the Tuesday night Gladwyne ride. I'd promised the boy a quick ride but that changed at about mile 15. Sorry, pal. You are a trooper. Houses this...

These riders, once not even considered worthy of a training ride, are about to steal the day." - Phil Liggett. Friday, April 22, 2011. Mommy, where do bike races come from? Well, son, when people love a sport they come together and make a race. They labor not for money, but for love. Sometimes they make a race to remember friends lost; sometimes it's to make new friends or help friends who need support. Regardless of the reason for creating a race, the best races are about love and not money. Yesterday I...

These riders, once not even considered worthy of a training ride, are about to steal the day." - Phil Liggett. Sunday, June 10, 2012. Star Date 060912: The Away Team. The Away Team landed at the 12 Hours of Granogue fairly unprepared to do battle against alien forces who clearly take riding and training seriously. While we scored high in the fun points, we had our asses handed to us on platters. Course Director Buddy Briggs. Mr Richard Duster came from Colorado. Saturday began with a 10K run followed by ...

These riders, once not even considered worthy of a training ride, are about to steal the day." - Phil Liggett. Monday, October 8, 2012. At Granogue a few years back, Kim Showers accused me of wearing "Mom Jeans." Some unspeakable cotton concoction found wherever old women find comfortable clothing and sweatshirts with cat decals. Auer ripped this shirt off some old lady at Bingo Night. This weekend at Providence while cheering for my C3 Twenty20 Cycling Co. I guess I prematurely tossed the mom jeans.
