Съдбата в тези години явно бе благосклонна към бадминтона, тъй като тогавашният завеждащ отдел в Профсъюза на работниците от местната промишленост и битови услуги, реши да го включи в програмата на работническите спартакиади. Точно от подготовката за участие в тях се формираха не само първите Русенски отбори, но и тези на Кърджали, Плевен, Добрич, Балкантурист от София и Варна, по-късно и на Старт -София. Така се стигна до първата официална среща на русенските отбори.
