Monday, 28 June 2010. This half term class 9 went on their first big learning adventure. We went on a coach all the way to the Butterfly House to see lots of different creatures. We hoped we were going to see lots of butterflies and insects and we were not disappointed. First we saw a rabbit and learnt that rabbits are mammals because they have fur. School Calendar and Useful Dates. Our school doors open at 8:45am for children and parents to come into school to do a short activity together. The register is taken at 9am, at which time the outside doors are closed. Any late children should come into school via the office entrance. The children have one morning playtime for 15 minutes and a lunch time for 1 hour 15 minutes. School finishes at 3:00pm. Tuesday, 22 June 2010. This term we have started to learn about Castles and Dragons as part of our Fantasy Topic! We have visited conisbrough Catle and had a great day out. First we had a tour of the castle and then we all took part on some exciting workshops ran by our teachers where we did sketching, drama, cartoon strips, dressing up in medievil costume. Monday, 28 June 2010. Welcome to Class 6's summer blog! The following week we followed this up with a visit to Consibrough Castle. The weather was fabulous, and after a tour of the castle, and time to dress up in costumes from castle times, we had our picnic in the grounds, did some sketching of the castle and held a medieval style team game tournament. We now have a large castle in our role play, and a castle and dragons in our small world, for us to make up our own fantasy stories.

Monday, 28 June 2010. Class 7 went to visit the Tropical Butterfly Farm at North Anston for their school visit. The day was very wet, but we had a fantastic time. Monday, 28 June 2010. Animals, animals, animals! During this summer term, Foundation stage visited the Butterfly Farm at North Anston. Class 8 have done lots of learning about this and the animals we saw there. We showed most of this learning in our assembly. When you come into our classroom you will see paintings, writing, number work, ICT, patterns and creative work all around our trip. The children were able to touch and hold these animals. They also found out some interesting facts about each one.
