Welcome to the E-Life. Journey of an amateur athlete addicted to endurance. Sunday, December 28, 2008. I went on 28.5 mile bike ride today. The knee feels a lot better. I headed out to Dublin and then back up to Alamo. During that bike ride, there was a break through! Saturday, December 27, 2008. Sunday, December 21, 2008. A cold and hilly run. I came into the run not knowing about this course except only to bring an old pair of running shoes because it was going to get muddy. We started the run and with...

Just a Running Fool: Running is a mental sport and we're all insane!
http://no-wimps.blogspot.com/2007/01/running-is-mental-sport-and-were-all.html
Thursday, January 25, 2007. Running is a mental sport and we're all insane! That was a caption that I saw on the t-shirt of a girl running the Rock N'Roll Arizona Half Marathon. When I saw it I had to crack up. it's funny because it's true :D Here's a recap of my Half Marathon weekend in frigid Arizona:. Saturday Jan. 13:. Once we got to AZ we were shuttled to the Hyatt in downtown Phoenix, our hotel for the weekend. The hotel was really nice, but even nicer was that I got my own room! The tears came fro...

Just a Running Fool: June 2009
http://no-wimps.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 12, 2009. Anyone still out there? I'm back. at least for today! After my big promise months ago to get better about blogging on a more regular basis, I pretty much abandoned my blog :( I initially blamed the new job, but now that I'm more settled in, have my own office, and have the time to update, I still don't have that urge to write. BUT, the time has come to get on here again and at least write SOMETHING :). Let me just say that 1) I hate running in circles, 2) I hate running through gee...

Just a Running Fool: December 2008
http://no-wimps.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Playing blog catch up. First things first. I'M OLD(ER)! The 2nd birthday celebration was on Saturday. I invited some friends over for dinner, drinks and some hanging out. Having a winter birthday means you don't have as many options when it comes to celebrating, especially because I don't really feel like fighting all the holiday crowds to go out to dinner. I cooked up some chili and a potato dish from The Pioneer Woman. Although I missed going to Maui like we have the past fe...

IRON UP: Remembering Brenda July 6, 1970-April 14, 2007
http://kickbuttwu.blogspot.com/2010/04/remembering-brenda-july-6-1970-april-14.html
Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Remembering Brenda July 6, 1970-April 14, 2007. So far, this blog has mainly described my insane training regimen as a member of the IronTeam. But it has also highlighted some athletic accomplishments that never in a million years I thought I would ever achieve. Swimming in open water in 50 degree weather, riding my bike up Mt. Diablo, doing as many sprint triathlons as I can in a 5 hour span- -who knew? As I got to know Brenda better, I met her husband Jim; her two sons, Trevo...

Welcome to the E-Life: November 2008
http://tntmarathon.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Welcome to the E-Life. Journey of an amateur athlete addicted to endurance. Sunday, November 30, 2008. I did not exercise Thanksgiving Day. I slightly overate and as a result, I forced myself to cycle 20 miles around the neighborhood on Friday. I felt so much better. Thursday, November 27, 2008. A feel good story. Monday, November 24, 2008. On Sunday, I cranked out 30 miles with some cool amigas on the bike. It just reminded how much I loved cycling in a group. It's not as fun riding solo. Last night, I ...

http://tntmarathon.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Welcome to the E-Life. Journey of an amateur athlete addicted to endurance. Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Harriet Anderson: Hawaii Bound This October. Back at the Lake tonight. Seems like forever. The new path is not completely done yet, but it's changed a lot since I was last there. I went way too fast in the beginning and I paid for it. I must have stopped at least 3 or 4 times to walk for a few seconds. I finished the 3 miles or so in 0:27:24 (9:07/mile). Monday, July 27, 2009. Monday, July 20, 2009. Picked...

IRON UP: Lasso'd the Yasso's.....
http://kickbuttwu.blogspot.com/2010/01/lassod-yassos.html
Sunday, January 31, 2010. After our triathlon last Sunday, this recent week was supposed to be a "recovery" week- -like everything else, it's all relative. Nothing is easy when it comes to IronTeam training. The biggest challenge this week was completing the run marker, which consisted of the Yasso 800's. On Saturday, our team met at Sports Basement. In Crissy Field for a 1.5 hour run, a strength/core workout with the TRX,. I was going to do the bike marker today, but just needed a day off. My quads ...
