8230;thoughts tumbling…. Best Books of 2013. February 8, 2014. At the end of 2012 I made a list of all the books I read and published my first annual best books list. The Language of Flowers. This break-out novel for Erin Morgenstern was my favorite read of 2013. It included elements of magical realism, which I have a great fondnesss for, and it reminded me of one of my favorite movies: The Illusionist. The circus that is featured in the novel is a (magical? Is the first book in The Lunar Chronicles.
