Gilles Family Adventures: Busier than Bees
http://htgilles.blogspot.com/2010/08/busier-than-bees.html
Tuesday, August 17, 2010. Boy, has the last month flown by. We've been up to all sorts of stuff, which is best described by the photos Jilly has posted of our adventures:. July brought us on a road trip (no kids) with Ian and Monika to Toront. Falls, Canada. More fun than one would think possible in just 4 short days. Http:/ picasaweb.google.com/jesse.gilles/TorontoNiagara2010. Then two weekends later Erin and Adam. In this photo I think Hucky is giving Adam tips on living with a Traynor.). Love the new ...

Gilles Family Adventures: Trey's birthday!
http://htgilles.blogspot.com/2010/09/treys-birthday.html
Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Little Mister T-Bear turned One this week! The Traynors and Heckers (plus a few other special peeps) got together at Kate and Huck's new house to celebrate the big milestone on Sunday. Had the honor of making his first cake,. Which I made as a banana-flavored monkey cake for the littlest monkey in the crew. He got lots of new clothes and a big fun truck that the other kids all wanted to take away from him. I don't think Gabe and Clair. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

ButterSuite: Team Catserole: Hooray!
http://buttersuite.blogspot.com/2009/11/team-catserole-hooray.html
Butter and Bodies: A Dairy Diary. Thursday, November 5, 2009. When my friend Andrew asked if I would collaborate with him on a casserole cook-off, I was reticent. My culinary skills are best served in a cake pan or with frosting. I relented because it was, after all, casserole and I'll do just about anything for cheese. If I were to develop a casserole recipe from scratch, a dream-casserole, what would it taste like? What textures would be most pleasing? Andrew's Mom's Recipe for King Ranch Chicken.

ButterSuite: May 2009

Butter and Bodies: A Dairy Diary. Thursday, May 28, 2009. It's Not Easy Being Green: Lime Sugar Cookies*. Tastes like a margarita without the booze. This recipe is one of my oldest non-family recipes. It is also one of the most labor-intensive and rewarding. The tastes (sour, sweet, salty) are rivaled only by the texture (crunchy on the outside, chewy in the center). They are, perhaps, the tastiest things I've ever put in my mouth. Bonus: they prevent scurvy! 6 Tables butter, softened. 1/2 c lime sugar.

Butter and Bodies: A Dairy Diary. Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Grandpas are Nice*: Toasted Walnut Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookies. Or what happens when you Google "oatmeal, butterscotch, walnut". I have a thing for old men: grumpy, dirty, or otherwise. Butterscotch reminds me of them and, more specifically, grandfathers. I've been lucky enough to have 4, though I've only known 3 (my paternal grandfather died when Dad was 17, but that's a story for another time). Toasted Walnut Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookies.

Gilles Family Adventures: Mini Chefs
http://htgilles.blogspot.com/2011/03/mini-chefs.html
Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Ids are really into cooking right now (I wonder where they get that from? They love their play kitchen and Melissa and Doug foodstuffs, but they are starting to take it up a notch - Gabe has been browsing recipes on the PBS kids website to cook at Grandma's house, and Claire gets out her special kid-knife from pampered chef anytime I'm making dinner because she wants to cut cheese or onions or fruit. And it was delicious too - they even shared with me (a little).

Gilles Family Adventures: April 2010
http://htgilles.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 25, 2010. Princess Cupcake Turns 2! This morning we celebrated Claire's second birthday in the royal treatment fitting of a Princess Cupcake. Most of the family was on hand to shower Claire with love, presents and cake. The Dora-themed decorations and strawberry-themed food were perfectly complimented by a wide range of gifts relating to Dora, princesses, and other things suitably girly. Check out the festivities on both Jesse's. Gotta love our sweet Clairey Berry! Sunday, April 4, 2010.
