During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions until I read the last one: "What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school? Posted by Srijan at 9:25 PM. Things I said you Didn't Hear! Saturday, August 19, 2006. Today it's been a week exactly since I came back. There was a time when I thought that I really wanted to be here, really wanted to practice here for a bit. Today I really don't know I am lost in space in time! In anycase I guess I just needed to say it to someone and it's America so what better than a computer to say it to! Posted by Srijan at 2:56 PM. Tuesday, August 15, 2006. Anyway I guess i am just talking now for no reason so i'll go! It's b...

Tuesday, November 28, 2006. Karma (Sanskrit: कर्म from the root kr, "to do"). Is a word of ancient origin meaning action or activity and its subsequent results (also called karma-phala, "the fruits of action"). It is commonly understood as a term to denote the entire cycle of cause and effect as described in the philosophies of a number of Dharmic Religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism. Maya (Sanskrit: माया māyā, from mā "not" and yā "this"). In Hinduism, Maya must be seen through in order to achieve(li...

Illusions: Heart break
http://mayajain.blogspot.com/2006/11/heart-break.html
Thursday, November 09, 2006. What hurts more… a broken heart or breaking a heart? Circumstances are such that the one thing I was looking forward to at the end of the year for nearly most of the year now won’t happen. And I’m disappointed. More so since there is another person looking forward to the same thing that I was…. I’m going to disappoint him. I'm sure "he" will understand. After struggling with himself, cursing you and then forgiving you and then realizing that there's nothing to forgive. But so...

Friday, July 28, 2006. Über achievers and their free stuff. Have you noticed how people who have tonnes of money and can afford to buy pretty much anything they want, are the ones that get all the really nice expensive free stuff from Brand names, corporates, etc. Usually these people who get the free stuff, belong to a breed of humans commonly known as "celebrities" and the people giving out the free stuff come under the multi-purpose title of "marketing". I know this certain sports celebrity though, wh...

Illusions: Morning Hours
http://mayajain.blogspot.com/2010/01/morning-hours.html
Saturday, January 02, 2010. My favorite time of the day has always been dawn, the time where everything slowly turns from dark to grey, on to shades of the actual object and then finally full color. It is also the most peaceful time in my day, being able to collect my thoughts and get a calm start to the day. It gives me a chance catch up/reflect on things that were missed the day before in a frenzy of emails, phone calls and just the minutiae of every day existence. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
