Kuanghua Market has *all* kinds of electronics but instead of a large superstore like Fry's, it's a collection of hundreds of small little shops (there were at least 6 floors! Every shop carried different items which made it a little tricky finding someone who sold the specific parts we needed. Tuesday, June 1, 2010. Trip to Taiwan - Day #3. Chiang Kia-shek Memorial Hall. Day 3: Tour of Taipei - I signed up for a half-day tour of the city. We had an English-speaking guide, a couple from Australia and an Asian family in the group. It was really fun to see all the different sites and learn some history! Thursday, June 3, 2010. Trip to Taiwan - Day #5. They were very friendly, even though I was just kind of tagging along. The dinner was definitely an experience - Chinese Shanghai style. A sampling of items from last night's dinner: jellied pork, steamed ferns, fried seaweed and bamboo, shark fin soup, peas and lily bulbs, taro dessert, drunk chicken, red dates with sticky rice. And, yes, I tried them all! Watermelon and pineapple, green onion pancakes, and surprisingly, the ferns and seaweed and bamboo.

Thursday, March 12, 2009. Kaylee (& the kids). This was Kaylee's "Nation's Symbols" project for school. They had to make something 3-dimensional that represented one of our nation's symbols. Kaylee decided to make a pillow of the Betsy Ross flag (because it has less stars! I did the cutting and most of the ironing, but she picked out all the fabric, did all the sewing herself, ironed on the stars, puffy-painted around them, stuffed it, and helped me sew up the gap! Life on the Bay . . . Welcome to the adventures of The Putman Family! Saturday, April 25, 2009. The girls enjoyed sitting and reading books on the couches next to their teachers! It was a nice and relaxing change of pace. Another evening, we went to the Mingus Park Pool for a "free swim." Allison enjoyed the pool with her friends while Lindsey, Jonah and I watched her. They both did a wonderful job! Madison Elementary School just celebrated "Helicopter Day"! It was so exciting! What an unforgettable day!
