Bug Hunt 17th August. Welcome to Balaam's Wood Local Nature Reserve. Balaam's Wood Local Nature Reserve in Frankley, Birmingham is made up of 6.5 acres of ancient oak woodland and the same amount of grassland. The reserve is also lucky enough to have the River Rea running through it, on its way to the city centre. The nature reserve is cared for by The Friends of Balaam's Wood LNR in support of the Birmingham City Council Ranger Service. A tribute to our friend. Community Web Kit provided free by BT.
