Welcome to my Painting Page. Did art and technical drawing at school, and used to be ok at sketching and painting, but haven't painted for 40 years. Recently I have been watching re-runs of the Joy of Painting with Bob Ross (1942 - 1995) and love his easy style and relaxed presentation and particularly some of his sayings, 'we don't make mistakes we just have happy accidents' and his chuckle every time he washes his brush and 'beats the heck out of it' on an easel leg to dry it off. Welcome to my Photography page. I have enjoyed photography for thirty or so years with Pratica SLR cameras which I still have. I bought a Kodak DC280 in 2000 with a resolution of 2 mega pixels and a 3 x zoom it was a point and shoot camera with limited manual control. In 2003 I upgraded to a Canon G5, with 5 mega pixel resolution and settings from fully automatic to manual it is as close to my old SLR cameras as it is possible to get without spending well over a thousand pounds.

On the 29th December 2014 I bought a Nikon P600 Super Zoom Camera to replace my Olympus 40X Zoom and taken a few snaps to try it out, it has a 60x zoom or 1,440mm-equivalent telephoto. Here's a selection of pictures all taken hand held! I have to say I am impressed with the clarity and detail and colour reproduction in the pictures, and I'm particularly impressed with the Vibration Reduction System in the camera,.
