Con gli occhi ben chiusi come se stessero semplicemente dormendo un sonno lungo una vita - sua madre e l'odore del disinfettante. Era sicura che avrebbe avuto una vita tranquilla, relativamente felice. Inginocchiato sulla riva fangosa, in un giorno di pioggia, affannarsi e recitare una spezzata litania - tipregotipregotiprego.
