Totally Trevor!: The Birthday Bash
http://trev-trevorsblog.blogspot.com/2008/02/birthday-bash.html
Monday, February 18, 2008. I was whisked away to very plush Crowne Plaza Hotel. Staying in very noise suite on the executive floor. I could have easily spent my morning parading up and down the grand staircase, but no time for that now! So after a couple of quick laps I rushed off to the nearby NLS4 planning meeting. Spent the next hour and a bit at a planning meeting for next New Librarians Symposium (NLS4). Etal (Just to clarify for Daysofourlibraries. The trip back was interesting too - our party was ...

Thoughts and Reflections: Makerspace seminar
http://shewgirl.blogspot.com/2014/03/makerspace-seminar.html
Saturday, 15 March 2014. I've been asked to do a presentation on Makerspaces and their relevance in libraries (public, school, academic) at a seminar in May. I'm really excited by this, as it will give me an opportunity to talk about something I am really passionate about - creativity and collaboration in libraries. It's also going to give me another opportunity to do more research and look at what has been trending and developing in recent months. Stay tuned for more information as I can release it :).

Thoughts and Reflections: Day 5 Maker spaces and libraries - Pinterest board #blog12daysxmas

Tuesday, 31 December 2013. Day 5 Maker spaces and libraries - Pinterest board #blog12daysxmas. Following on from my post regarding maker spaces in public libraries. And the LinkedIn group about maker spaces in public libraries,. I started thinking about the ways that libraries could also harness ideas on what to do/create/make if they created such a space for their users. Many of the activities here relate to the STEAM principles (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics).

Thoughts and Reflections: Day 7 on books and reading #blog12daysxmas

Tuesday, 1 January 2013. Day 7 on books and reading #blog12daysxmas. I am wondering if I can exceed this in 2013. This is definitely not a resolution. I don't need to add another pressure to myself :) It would be nice to get through the mounds of books though, majority of which are now in 'e'. On my bedside table to read next are:. A mind for murder: the real life files of a psychic investigator. She's never coming back. A killing in the hills. How was your reading list in 2012? View my complete profile.

Thoughts and Reflections: Day 4 Makers spaces and public libraries - LinkedIn Group #blog12daysxmas

Saturday, 28 December 2013. Day 4 Makers spaces and public libraries - LinkedIn Group #blog12daysxmas. The development of the maker space. At my branch entailed a lot of research to elicit what would work, what may work and what I (potentially) should avoid acquiring for the space. This research started around April 2013 and was quite hard to do; there wasn't a lot of information easily available and meant that most of what I did get was through personal contact with libraries overseas. Then be sure to j...

Living Small in a Big World. Thoughts, Ideas and so much more. December 11, 2016. So here I am rapidly approaching Xmas with that fear and dread of what I’m going to encounter on Xmas day. I went to see the GP and have now got my special pills that I can take if I accidentally ingest something I can’t tolerate anymore.I’ll also be taking my very own corn crackers in case I need something to eat and there’s no carbs I can eat…. This is what I’ve found through trial and error that I can no longer eat:.

Living Small in a Big World. Thoughts, Ideas and so much more. Raising a low tech child. January 2, 2017. My son is low tech, has been since he was born. He’s not plugged into anything apart from an hour of computer games in the morning on his school holidays – which he uses to play Age of Empires or Minecraft. Post Consumerism →.
