Ballard Belly Pleasers: BBQ Chicken Pizza

http://www.ballardbellypleasers.blogspot.com/2011/07/bbq-chicken-pizza.html

Sunday, July 17, 2011. Ever since we first had this particular pizza, three weeks or so ago, I think about it every day. I really don't think I am exaggerating. Something about it added up to perfection. Not necessarily nutritionally.though, really, it doesn't exactly go on the awful list. Just a nice medium. Not to mention a great meal for kids to help with. I do have a couple of good recipes for pizza crust, will eventually get a recipe on here and link over! For now, do whatever your heart desires!

Ballard Belly Pleasers: Go-to Chocolate Cake and Frosting

http://www.ballardbellypleasers.blogspot.com/2009/03/chocolate-cake.html

Sunday, March 1, 2009. Go-to Chocolate Cake and Frosting. I got this recipe from my dear friend, Ali. Ali is the guru for all things "Is there a healthier version of this? Ali is also the guru for all things "We laughed so hard we." but we'll leave that for another time. And I love this chocolate cake recipe. The frosting too. (though we have had our differences). It's like a miracle in cake form. A really delicious miracle. It also inspires run-on sentences. Let's just get to it. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder.

Ballard Belly Pleasers: Roasted Cinnamon Honey Chickpeas

http://www.ballardbellypleasers.blogspot.com/2011/07/roasted-cinnamon-honey-chickpeas.html

Friday, July 15, 2011. Roasted Cinnamon Honey Chickpeas. Okay So, chickpeas aren't exactly at the top of my list of favorite foods. But they are. Somewhere near the top of my list of foods I that wish I, and my family, enjoyed more so we would get the health benefits they offer. When I found this recipe, it just LOOKED so yummy, I decided to try it. Quite honestly, I thought maybe I could trick my kids into liking chickpeas. 1 15 oz can Garbanzo Beans, drained and rinsed (or 2 cups cooked Garbanzo Beans).

Ballard Belly Pleasers: Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

http://www.ballardbellypleasers.blogspot.com/2011/07/banana-chocolate-chip-muffins.html

Friday, July 15, 2011. Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins. These are very yummy without being overly sweet. Perfect for morning, noon or night! We have eaten them as part of meals, as a snack, and as dessert. If you use good quality chocolate chips, it really can be a pretty guilt-free indulgence! I found this recipe on weelicous.com. It is a GREAT resource for recipes using good ingredients that will please kids! This recipe makes 12 regular muffins. 1 1/2 c flour. 1 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp baking soda.

The Ballard Bunch: June 2012

http://jcballardbunch.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 17, 2012. Yes, for lack of a more creative side to me right now, this post is simply.September. You see, I thought to myself that I needed to get caught up on my blogging. Because it has been an awfully long time. And I thought to myself that maybe I should really just skip over anything that has gone on since I last wrote and start fresh. So I am doing it. But it might not be pretty. If you must know. I've gotten kind of bad about taking very many pictures anymore. Who am I, anymore? I felt...

The Ballard Bunch: October 2011

Tuesday, October 11, 2011. A Trip for Me. My blogging muscles are out of shape. They need to be stretched and massaged a little. It works out well that this is the next post up for posting. Because it speaks for itself. That might have had something to do with the fact that, upon my arrival, my sister, Monica-the-artist, and bro-in-law, Austin-the-landscape-designer (Is that the right title? Would you like to see what we saw? Of course you would. Go ahead, take a scroll through. You see what I did there?

Tuesday, October 9, 2012. October of last year was . . . well . . . But, better late than never. Plugging ahead, perhaps I will be up to date by next year! And in the attitude of plugging ahead . . . Just a lot of pictures of the goings on of our October, 2011. I love October and I am excited to revisit last fall to get excited for this fall because it really is FINALLY starting to cool off! Let's see what kinds of things we might have in store . . . I have yet to have successful cucumber plants! I love ...

The Ballard Bunch: September 2011

Thursday, September 29, 2011. Cell Snapshots: Helping Brothers. So, as it turns out, in the archives of Cell Phone Photo Land, I have documented a few instances of my boys being adorably helpful. Last year, like every year, our neighbor's pine tree rained pine needles on our backyard. You would think the three-inch-thick blanket of pine needles would be obnoxious, but I'm just so darn excited we have a gorgeous pine tree waving above us, smelling all good, I don't mind at all. Ben rushed right into action.

Sunday, July 31, 2011. A Latesummer Weekend's Fun. Does that title sound anything like 'A Midsummer Night's Dream? I don't know, sometimes I don't quite hit the mark. Anyway, we got a very awesome invitation this last week. JC's sister was heading to a local resort for a night's stay with her family. The family friend they had planned to go with had to back out last minute. They kindly invited us and we were so excited. Here you see.we were ready to go! Cute girl and her cat. Here, Colton makes Ben laugh.

The Ballard Bunch: April 2011

http://jcballardbunch.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Let it Grow, Let it Grow, Let it Grow! In the midst of all my consta-blogging lately (well, my version of consta-blogging anyway), I figured it was about time to stop and smell the roses. Orthe pomegranate, cucumber, and tomato blossoms plus marigolds, oleander (nasty smell if you ask me), and.and.lettuce? Okay, well, I ran out of things that smell in my backyard. But, what I'm trying to say is, it's time to dedicate an entire post to what we've got growin' on around here.

Monday, May 30, 2011. The Pomp of Various Circumstances. Today was the first official day of summer. And I am TIRED. Okay, so, summer break actually started last week. But, it was a holiday weekend, JC wasn't working, etc. So, it just felt like a long weekend and therefore, today is officially the first day of summer. Though yes, I do realize that the actual first day of summer is not until the end of June but if you have EVER lived in the Valley of the Sun here in AZ, you know what a joke that. I am goi...

The Ballard Bunch: January 2013

http://jcballardbunch.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Today we had one of those scares. The kind where you think you lost your photos off in technology land. April through September of last year had disappeared and I had begun moving through the stages of grief, considering all of the milestones and fun that would not be remembered as vividly. Stages of grief stopped, and rejoicing commenced! AndI felt rather motivated to get things organized and very accounted for. And getting this blog up to date is part of that! There was lots...

Ballard Beginnings

Wednesday, March 4, 2009. Sunday March 1 was Boston's birthday. We celebrated the day before because we weren't sure of Blake's schedule and he had to be home for his little girls big day. She of course had no idea that it was her birthday. I made her a laddybug cake and also made a seperate cake for her to ruin. To my surprise she wanted a spoon and ate it with a spoon, staying pretty clean. Monday, February 23, 2009. Of course I didn't have a working camera for the day. (Carver broke it a few weeks...
