http://hopefulfarm.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Where Hopes and Dreams Take Flight. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Run on Sentence Injured. Will Sit out Diamond Stakes. Lost by the narrowest of margins to his half-brother Molecular in the Japan Cup. But the bigger loss to Hopeful Farm came when the colt came home injured in his first start of the season. Hopeful Farm had planned on sending the colt to the 16 furlong test to set up either a bid at Dubai or Melbourne. Links to this post. Labels: Run on Sentence. Sunday, August 28, 2011. By War Machine), has established herself as the foundation of our breeding program. Southern Charm was a stellar racing mare, winning the US Filly's Triple Crown and multi-Breeders Cup Distaff, but is perhaps better known as a leading producer of champions - including Southern Belle. War of the Lilies, Kenny's Charm,. And rising 2 year old filly Regal Charm. And War of the Lilies. On the B...

Where Hopes and Dreams Take Flight. Wednesday, July 20, 2011. To play, press the play button and continue to press play to advance the presentation. Links to this post. Saturday, July 16, 2011. The 2 year old grey colt is the definition of an impulse buy. Prior to the start of the End of Year Auction he did not make my list of potential horses. And yet, after the auction concluded - St. Vincent was shipped to Michigan. His sire, Discay. So St Vincent begs the question - why did I purchase him? But honest...

Hopeful Farm: October 2011
http://hopefulfarm.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Where Hopes and Dreams Take Flight. Sunday, October 23, 2011. After 4 starts with no wins to her name, War of the Lilies. Has a bit of a change coming ahead of her. I knew she'd be a long shot to win the Kentucky Oaks, but I felt she earned a chance to make a start. Prior to the race I had predicted she'd finish 4th. Although it wasn't a surprising end, I am still a little disappointed that she won't be going on in the classics. Links to this post. Wednesday, October 05, 2011. Make Sense of This. I alway...

Hopeful Farm: Breeding Season 2016
http://hopefulfarm.blogspot.com/2013/04/breeding-season-2016.html
Where Hopes and Dreams Take Flight. Thursday, April 04, 2013. Breeding Season is upon us. Never before has Hopeful Farm attempted to breed so many foals as this year. Barring any complications, an astounding 35 foals will be arriving soon. This year is likely to be an exception, an outlier. 35 is simply too many to breed each season and does not follow our long term plans. In a normal year 20 - 25 foals will be our upper-limit. Grand Vizier (A Bus x Promised Land). Arabian Nights (Curlin x Rags to Riches).

Hopeful Farm: 2017 Racers Part 2: Juvenile Prospects

Where Hopes and Dreams Take Flight. Friday, April 05, 2013. 2017 Racers Part 2: Juvenile Prospects. Okay 1 foal, Dumbledore's Army. Won't mature until 4 or 5 - so he's not quite eager or ready. He'll stay at the Farm in Michigan with a couple of my really slow maturing 3 year olds to get gain some more confidence and maturity. So. 15 foals rearing to go. Will get some supplementary training at the Farm too. Except. Marauder's Map. The filly by Handsome Man out of Slickfest, Harmonious Love. Also rates OK...

Hopeful Farm: July 2012
http://hopefulfarm.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Where Hopes and Dreams Take Flight. Monday, July 16, 2012. Led Astray: A Broodmare Dud? But, to put it plainly, she's been a relative dud in the breeding shed. She has had 7 foals, with 5 of those of racing age. Led Astray has been paired with some of the legends of Photo Finish; and yet, has very little to show for it. The jury is out on Apparate Away and DistrictRevolution. DistrictRevolution has a very good AR with no real flaws. To be honest, Apparate Away doesn't have the been AR that I've s...Chels...

Where Hopes and Dreams Take Flight. Thursday, April 04, 2013. Hopeful Farm 2017 Racers Pt. 1: Stable Stars. Well I figured since Jim posted about 8 articles in the past month and. Wrangled DJ into writing for him, I better post at least once before the season starts. Eclipse, Breeders Cup, and Hong Kong winner Tempe's Logic. And All for Camena. But he has a lot more racing to do before he can stand with the legends of the game. With "a long peak, several racing seasons" tag in his AR, I'm hoping he'l...
