And we must say goodbye to May 2011 which many of you know was Better Hearing and Speech Month. Here is a poem written from a cochlear implant recipient Laurie Pullins. Enough to relieve my fears. Before sub...

The Chilton's: July 2011
http://kaylynandluke.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 30, 2011. My baby boy turned 7 YEARS OLD today! I can't believe it! He is growing up WAY to fast for me. We had a very relaxed day today and had a family party for him. He has been so excited all week and was so happy the big day FINALLY arrived. This year he picked a Transformer's cake. Yes, it has grey icing. I couldn't help but think of Steel Magnolias when I saw it: "It's got grey icing. I can't even begin to think how you make grey icing.". His favorite part of the day.
The Chilton's: Ball Party!!!
http://kaylynandluke.blogspot.com/2012/06/ball-party.html
Sunday, June 24, 2012. Way back on May 26 we had Luke's end of the season ball party. As you can see it was a swim party, which makes me a nervous-wreck. A good time was had by all.despite my nervous pacing! This little boy also decided to start swimming! Don't know why, but somewhere in the back of his memory, the failed attempts at swim lessons from years past decided to surface and we had success at swimming and he was like a little fish.and his mother breathed a HUGE sigh of relief!

The Chilton's: Washington, D.C. - Day 2
http://kaylynandluke.blogspot.com/2012/06/washington-dc-day-2.html
Monday, June 4, 2012. Washington, D.C. - Day 2. This was a day jam- packed full of events which started at 6:30 with breakfast at the hotel. We then loaded the bus and headed to our first stop, the Korean War Memorial. Next, we walked over to the Lincoln Monument. Bella, Shalyan, and Kaylyn. This scene may look familiar: Remember the scene from Forrest Gump with Jenny running across the reflecting pool? Except the reflecting pool was under construction so it had been drained. Bummer. :(. After visiting T...
The Chilton's: August 2011
http://kaylynandluke.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 16, 2011. Yesterday was the kid's first day of school. Kaylyn started 5th grade (sniff, sniff) and Luke started 1st grade. They are growing up too fast! They were happy to be back at school with all their friends and have been ready to go back for the past few weeks. Both kids even got up early AND willingly yesterday! That, in itself, is a miracle! Luke: (very excited) "I got a D on my test! Me: "You got a D? Luke: "Oh, I mean a, um, B.I think.". Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
The Chilton's: Washington, D.C. - Day 3
http://kaylynandluke.blogspot.com/2012/06/washington-dc-day-3.html
Wednesday, June 6, 2012. Washington, D.C. - Day 3. We started the day bright and early and headed straight to The White House for a visit. Our group was the first group from our school to be granted permission to tour The White House, so it was pretty exciting! No cameras were allowed inside, so no pictures beyond this point. He just walked right through the crowd like he owned the place! The demonstration below is a protest against nuclear weapons and was grandfathered-in, so it actually legal to be wit...

Monday, November 28, 2011. While I miss the ER tremendously, I really do love my new job. I am learning so many new things and the people I work with are so nice and have welcomed me with open arms (literally! I love teaching the families of the newly diagnosed diabetic patients how to care for their children. Plus the fact that I get to work like a normal person is a big bonus! Guess who spent this past Saturday in Auburn at the Iron Bowl? Chris in his Auburn gear stood out in the sea of crimson. After ...
