Makena Karatasi: September 2013
http://makenakaratasi.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Meet me at the intersection of life and paper. My creative space has been in flux for the last few years. After we refinished out basement in 2009, I commandeered one-third of it for my work area (thank you, honey! Could it really, truly happen? YES, it COULD happen! And it did. Over the Fourth of July week(end), we transformed the long wall in the living room from its irritating hodge-podgeness to a cohesive, inspiring work area. Fireplace? Check View of inclement weather? Check Ample storage space?

Makena Karatasi: November 2013
http://makenakaratasi.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Meet me at the intersection of life and paper. And so I have surrendered my food addiction to Him. I have been reluctant, even snarlingly unwilling, to relinquish this. I love food. I enjoy it. I savor it. I anticipate it and plan around it. I depend. On it Which is precisely the problem. God has been gently, firmly, unrelentingly reminding me that I must depend on Him, and Him alone. Food has become my idol, and my idol must be demolished: cast to the ground and pulverized to dust. OH, THIS OLD THING?

Makena Karatasi: October 2013
http://makenakaratasi.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Meet me at the intersection of life and paper. Karatasi No. 1. OK, so those of you who. Know me well (or maybe even not-so-well! There is something about paper that makes me crave (and appreciate) a life. Because of this passion for paper, I wanted to recognize it in my blog name somehow, so I chose karatasi. One of Swahili's words for paper. I hope to spotlight some favorite paper products each week and inspire all of us to put pen to paper a little more often. Manufacturer: Compendium, Inc. The colored...

Makena Karatasi: NO-vember
http://makenakaratasi.blogspot.com/2014/11/no-vember.html
Meet me at the intersection of life and paper. It is hard to be obedient. I’d been sensing the nudge of the Holy Spirit for awhile. When September came around, it was an indistinct sense that something was up, something was coming. As the fall progressed, the sense grew stronger. One morning I read Matthew 16-18 and there were several verses that seemed to pulse off the page and command my attention:. But My Father who is in heaven”. But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! It is better fo...

Meet me at the intersection of life and paper. Rough Draft No. 2 - Holy Contradiction. I want to yearn for You. I want to plug my ears with my fingers. Until You are all I hear,. No grimy coin on the sidewalk,. No quarter flecked with gum,. You are the lottery and I win You every time. Every time I fix my eyes on You,. EnJOY it...

Makena Karatasi: What's in my bag?
http://makenakaratasi.blogspot.com/2014/07/what-in-my-bag.html
Meet me at the intersection of life and paper. Whats in my bag? I've had a couple of questions about what I keep in all these little pouches so I thought this was the easiest way to share. Turquoise Tool Kit (bottom left): pens/pencils. Black/white/yellow Vera Bradley (top left middle): sunglasses. Khaki/red geometric (top right): vintage wooden game pieces that I use to keep track of the boys' behavior while we're out and about. Olive and black small Chilewich (middle): one for each boy's behavior chips.
