During my last week in La Barquita I began writing down details about people and things I didn’t want to forget:. It gets cloudy most afternoons, but it often does not rain. Monthly Archives: August 2008. August 8, 2008. I hope you’re doing well. I leave Monday to go home. This summer has been an incredibly odd blend of time feeling drawn out and time flying by. I cannot believe my internship is coming to a close. I’ll write in a few days to reflect a little on my time here, what I’ve learned, and share some experiences. For now…. I’m beginning to interview housing organizations tomorrow and I started mapping out the neighborhood’s vacant and for sale properties. I’m about half way done and I’ve found 100. That’s a lot for the size of the area. Tax delinquent properties are next on the agenda I think. Day 2 and a half. May 17, 2008. The street I live on. Down at the end is H Street. May 15, 2008.

Well, I attempted to do some Participatory Learning Activities with some of the kids in the neighborhood. There were supposed to be six, but only three showed up and one of them was six.
