A practice which has gone on since 1900. Here in Saskatchewan as most of you will know, we get some bitterly cold winters. Tuesday, August 5, 2014. Book review - Woodpeckers of the World. A few days ago a beautiful book was delivered to my front door, Woodpeckers of the Word, by Gerard Gorman. Firstly, I was amazed that there are 239 species of Woodpeckers on this planet. I had no idea how widespread, similar , and yet different each species was, in all corners of the globe. Of course, a book this detailed, has to have photos, and boy does it have some great ones, spread throughout the 529 pages. I highly recommend it! Click...
