The Band Nerd Speaks Out. Friday, October 12, 2007. You know, fall always seems to be busy. School is underway, new television shows begin and marching band season is in full swing. This fall I volunteered a little for the Mountain Crest High School Marching Band. It's been fun, but it reinforces the idea that I'm not much of a marching band person. The Life of Mecqae. Thursday, June 23, 2011. Summer is actually here! I was really worried that we weren't going to have a summer with all the snow, rain, and cold temps. But I have gone hiking quite a bit lately, which means it must be summer :) I went hiking a few weeks ago up to Bell Canyon (which is one of my favorite hikes) and there was so much water that the trail was covered! I also found 2 new trails that I have never done before and they are beautiful! I especially loved the Lake Blanche trail!
