http://run350.blogspot.com/2009/10/breaking-in-my-new-garmine-forerunner.html
Qualifying for the Boston Marathon. Monday, October 5, 2009. Breaking In My New Garmin Forerunner 405. I finally broke down and upgraded from the Garmin Forerunner 205 to the 405 this past week. I ordered it off of eBay for a very reasonable "buy it now" price, and separately ordered a footpod accelerometer. They both arrived very quickly. I couldn't get it to detect the footpod right away despite walking with the footpod the entire time (you have to have it moving to send data). But, eventually, I h...

Qualifying for the Boston Marathon: 2009 Chicago Marathon: Early Race Report

Qualifying for the Boston Marathon. Monday, October 12, 2009. 2009 Chicago Marathon: Early Race Report. By mile 15, my quads really began to hurt, but I also knew I was more than half way through. I'd managed three gels at this point (in spite of the fact their consistency was more of vaseline in the cold temps, ewwww), and done a great job of hydrating. The cool temperatures really helped, and I honestly believe made the effort after this point possible. I am so glad that it all came together for you!

Qualifying for the Boston Marathon: 2009 Race for the Summit
http://run350.blogspot.com/2009/05/2009-race-for-summit.html
Qualifying for the Boston Marathon. Saturday, May 2, 2009. 2009 Race for the Summit. I awoke half an hour before my alarm went off and was actually hungry. (Usually, the necessary bite of breakfast this early is a battle for me.) The rain chances had dropped to near-nil, and the wind was non-existent with an air temperature of about 50 F. Other than the course being unmercifully uphill for the last mile, things were aligning well. Of course the gun went off and the 70 elementary school group surged ahead...

Qualifying for the Boston Marathon: 2008 Chicago Marathon Post Race Report
http://run350.blogspot.com/2008/10/2008-chicago-marathon-post-race-report.html
Qualifying for the Boston Marathon. Sunday, October 12, 2008. 2008 Chicago Marathon Post Race Report. It was a beautiful morning, if an. Long walk to the Endurance Pavilion and back to the starting corrals. I discovered that the 3:50 pace group would only be in Seeded Corrals, not in Open Seeding, and therefore never saw them post-line-up. Although I didn't BQ, and missed it by 3 mintues, 14 seconds, I believe that I ran a very good race. I'm proud of my effort, probably more so the last 4 miles of s...

My road to Boston. My Personal Records (PB). Sunday, 8 September 2013. SAFRA Army Half Marathon 2013. I was still tired from my 24 hours journey the day earlier and still suffering from the jet lag that I only managed to go to bed past mid night, with a help of Ezee Sleep, a concoction like its name suggest, was supposed to make you drowsy and help you to sleep I found on a 7 Eleven counter. Yes it works, but I kept waking up and only had intermittent sleep. A) you need to arrive early. SAFRA Army Half M...

Laquo; Smálítið og ómerkilegt. E … hemm. 6 júlí, 2015 eftir Heiðar Birnir. Það tók sig upp gamalt skrf um daginn. Ég skellti mér í hlaupaskóna og fór út að labba. Þetta gerði ég nokkrum sinnum síðustu tvær vikur . Svo í gær dró ég hjólið út að leika. Við hjólið fórum upp að Íshestum og til baka með smá stoppi á Ölduslóðinni. Í dag rúlluðu við svo Álftaneshring í sameiningu. Grey hjólið hefur lítið fengið að finna fyrir því síðustu mánuði (ár? Það var því skemmtilega sprækt og skemmtilegt.
