There were no pyrotechnics, and Jesus didn't in a fiery blaze from heaven, return, a sword coming from his mouth. It was still pretty good though. A Valley Church Worship Music Blog. Monday, September 28, 2009. I've been writing music for years. However writing Christian music, for worship and otherwise has eluded me. The words do not come. The music is easy, the lyrics. seemingly impossible. They seem at the edge of my grasp, hiding behind the next bend, but yet not revealing themselves. When planning for our first Worship gathering on September 27th, Ryan brought to my attention Ezekiel 37. Song On the back of an envelope. The mp3 is comign soon.

A Valley Church Worship Music Blog. Monday, April 26, 2010. General Revelation vs. Special Revelation. While reading Mark Driscoll and Gerry Breshears' book "Doctrine" I came to the chapter, Revelation: God Speaks, and I had to pause. It was speaking of God's General Revelation vs. Special Revelation. In the past I had always thought of General Revelation as in God revealing himself through the Universe, the vastness of space, the perfection of creation, and the human body. For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. I have met so many people with the zeal for a savior, but few with a real knowledge of what they are seeking or worshipping. But what Romans 10:3.

Darkslighter: Desperate

A Valley Church Worship Music Blog. Thursday, June 17, 2010. Breathe, a typical simple 90's worship song arose in me the suspicion of theological discordance. Lines like: "I'm desperate for you" make me think twice. Does it make sense for a Christian to be desperate for Jesus? Don't we already have a relationship with him on lock-down? Isn't that relationship something that's impossible to lose? Then what are we desperate for? Here's some scripture to consider. If you love me, you will obey what I command.

A Valley Church Worship Music Blog. Sunday, January 17, 2010. I'm not one for simple songs or simple lyrics, but we we had communion for the first time at Valley Church. Today and sang Matt Redman's "Remembrance". By Your mercy we come to Your table. By Your grace You are making us faithful. Lord we remember You. And remembrance leads us to worship. And as we worship You. Our worship leads to communion. We respond to Your invitation. Something to remember. every time. we take the bread and cup.
