Love Makes a Family. Sunday, March 18, 2012. This morning we went to the Yuntai Garden and it was beautiful! We spent about an hour or so walking around, it was very hot and humid - about 88 degrees today with the humidity. After that we went to a shopping area and picked up a few souvenirs. Tonight we are just going to walk around the island some more and try to turn in early. These pictures were taken last night as we were walking around the island. Where morning sun kisses sky. Our life in the east. Thursday, January 03, 2013. For family waiting.here are the photos from our Christmas dates! Instead of a big gift under the tree (trust me, there were lots of small ones, though! Alex and I decided it would be fun for me to take each girl out on a special 'date' to do something special. It went really well, and the girls were so pleased to be able to have some choice in what we did and to have mommy all to themselves for half the day! Http:/ www.ch...

Children of our World: August 2013
http://childrenofourworld.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Remembering "Little Rock" and the other children, three years on. Today it is three years since a tragic accident where a minibus, full of schoolchildren, collided with a train in Cape Town. Ten children died, including Lisle (known as "Little Rock" in the media). One organisation that my charity, CHW. In South Africa, The Future Factory, had been supporting Lisle in previous years. This time last year. Links to this post. I have spent part of the summer in Ghana, and am now back in London. If you have s...

Beyond the Horizon: September 2014

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." James 1:27. Saturday, September 27, 2014. The orphan crisis weighs heavy on our hearts. Simple truths go through my mind regularly, like. If those in the world who claim to be Christian adopted just one child, there would be no need for orphanages. You can find her online in two places:. Her name here is Ting. Here name here is Tina. http://childrenofourworld.blogspot.com/2014/04/long-break-and-sad-news.html
Long Break and Sad News. Since December, I have mostly been working abroad and it was not easy to get online, so I took a long (and unintended! Break from this blog. Now I am back home in London, I will be able to post regularly again. I was so sad to see that the last post I was able to write from Argentina was about " a baby from Bolivia. I once wrote a post about some of the challenges of running a children's charity. I saw a beautiful quote on the facebook page " Angel Baby. View my complete profile.

Sunday, 27 June 2010. I finally managed to find some volunteering (which doesn't involve paying money to do worthwhile causes - weird i know) with the Baobei Foundataion. Which basically involved poking a little orphan who is in hospital either waiting for or recovering from an operation. The Ayi and baby, 'Ke Xin' [可馨]. Posted by Way Way. Saturday, 12 June 2010. Are We There Yet?: August 2011
http://blogbyteresa.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 21, 2011. When Carson first got home from China, Daddy wanted to get him involved in sports. Being from a VERY athletic, sports-minded family, I was not surprised that this was a priority in Daddy's mind. So, we chose instructional soccer. After all, it's a no-arm sport.and with Carson's low upper body muscle tone, it was a great fit. Carson played Spring and Fall soccer for three years. Then, last fall Daddy got the idea to put Carson in football.and we all got excited! Football practices...

Are We There Yet?: January 2012
http://blogbyteresa.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 25, 2012. In the mornings before school, Carson gets ready so much quicker than Molly. (In her defense, girls are a bit higher maintenance with grooming.) So, while I am wrestling Molly's hair into an acceptable, bow-adorned look, Carson is more than willing to help me with little chores. This morning, I asked him to empty the clothes out of the dryer and dump them on my bed. This task is as simple for Carson as it would be for anyone in the family! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A hard-w...

Are We There Yet?: June 2011
http://blogbyteresa.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Happy 18th Birthday, Meggie! There is just no way to adequately honor your firstborn on her 18th birthday.believe me, I've tried. I've been typing and retyping this post and just can't get the perfect statement of how much I adore this kid o' mine. I started off with a stroll down memory lane. Which, of course, began with her birth on June 22, 1993. Her third birthday (the year of the swing set). Her fourth birthday (the beginning of the very long-lived Barbie era in our house).
