Places I've lived - 1 - C'est dur de mourir au printemps tu sais
http://ringbark.livejournal.com/527864.html
Places I've lived - 1. I start this series wary of the fact that it may take more time than I thought, and may turn into some sort of autobiography too. Let's see. Bebington continued to be my home from 1961 till 1979 when I went to Oxford, though my tenure at Keble was shorter than I might have hoped. After a year, I went back home, from whence I studied for my degree at the University of Liverpool, graduating in 1983. Anyway, in late 1987, Viv joined me there after we married and in July 1989, David wa...

An amazing afternoon - Viv

Apr 27th, 2010 at 10:59 PM. After bag-a-bargain and bloodtests for Chris in the morning, I had lunch in Birkenhead and then headed out to Royden Park and Thurstaston Common and Hill. I hadn't been out there since I was child and it more than lived up to my memories of it. It was just lovely up there this afternoon, really beautiful! The sun was hot, there were huge bumble bees buzzing around the gorse and butterflies fluttering around. Here are just a few pictures:. 2 comments Leave a comment.

A second day in Iceland - Viv
http://vivh.livejournal.com/212087.html
A second day in Iceland. Apr 7th, 2010 at 9:43 PM. There was plenty of snow on the ground and the winds were incredibly strong making it feel much colder! But unlike Britain Reykjavik is used to snow and the roads were all clear by 9.30 and life was carrying on as normal. We walked up to The Pearl at the top of a hill where we had absolutely amazing views, and were nearly blown off our feet! Luckily there was also a cafe serving hot coffee and muffins were we could revive ourselves afterwards! It makes m...

Gullfloss, Geysir and more... - Viv
http://vivh.livejournal.com/212351.html
Gullfloss, Geysir and more. Apr 8th, 2010 at 11:27 PM. Day 3 could not have been more of a contrast to day 2 in terms of weather, although snow was still on the ground as we set off round the Golden circle in the morning, the sky was blue, the sun was shining and there was practically no wind at all, in fact just about perfect conditions really. First stop on the trip was a geothermal power station:. That was interesting but the best was definitly yet to come! Next was Gullfloss, the Golden Waterfall.

Dubrovnik 2 - the islands - Viv
http://vivh.livejournal.com/214103.html
Dubrovnik 2 - the islands. Aug 7th, 2010 at 11:03 AM. One day we went on boat trip to the Elaphite Isalnds, visiting the three largest islands, Kolocep, Sipan and Lopud. We didn't have very long at Kolocep but we managed to have a quick swim. Next we had lunch on the boat before heading to Sipan, where we had time to explore and swim a bit:. Next we went to Lopud where we walked over the hill to a lovely beach on the other side of the island:. 4 comments Leave a comment. Aug 7th, 2010 05:55 pm (UTC).

A day out with Moth! - Viv
http://vivh.livejournal.com/213196.html
A day out with Moth! Jun 22nd, 2010 at 11:54 PM. And I met up in Manchester and travelled over to Salford where we spent a very pleasant day in and around the Lowry centre. The sun was shining brightly all day and the area looked lovely. The exhibitions at the Lowry were interesting too and we had a lovely lunch at Cafe Rouge. Here are a few photos of the day:. And finally a bit of pavement art which intrigued us. what do these represent? Animal, vegetable or mineral? 2 comments Leave a comment.
