Noticing the good things in life. What’s it all about? No really – they can be a good thing. This is particularly true if you notice them in time to do something about them. My current project is Jean. Which I am thoroughly enjoying, especially using the John Arbon Textiles Viola. But it still fits in nicely with the rest of my clothes. At this point there were no photos on my Ravelry project. See – I was thinking… there’s a lifeline there, just not where I needed it this time. So big deep breath time, a...

Noticing the good things in life. What’s it all about? I have a tendency to see the glass as half-empty. This blog is an exercise to remind myself of the good things in my life, big or small. If it entertains anyone else that's a bonus. For the first time in two years we have got the pond netted in time! However it turns out he is less than impressed at not being able to get to his outside drinking bowl now! Complex flowers of the passion flower – fascinating and beautiful in their own way. Yarn which is...

Noticing the good things in life. What’s it all about? We were away when the roses were in their full glory this year, so we missed them… I popped out today to grab some photos of those flowers that were about, and managed to get some more or less in focus, despite the breeze. Planted up the hanging baskets myself and really pleased with how they’ve developed (especially as I’ve remembered to feed them regularly). Complex flowers of the passion flower – fascinating and beautiful in their own way. All pho...

January – Cloud Sailing
http://salix.drufus.co.uk/2015/01/11/january
Noticing the good things in life. What’s it all about? I like January, for me it’s a month of hope and new beginnings. The stress of Christmas preparation, activities and deadlines has gone, the nights are slowly getting shorter and Spring is just around the corner. Honest, it really is, 2 more months is nothing. Unfortunately I am limited to phone photos as my camera fell down the stairs and we are waiting to see if it is repairable or will have to be replaced. In the meantime I will repurpose our v...

Noticing the good things in life. What’s it all about? A favourite season… well actually I like them all, just as long as there aren’t too many grey days! Today was a grey day which muted the colours, but the the temperature was mild and Autumn joy is still there and being appreciated every time I go out and walk through the drifts of leaves along the roads, pavements and paths. A mossy log, damp and decaying, strewn with golden leaves…. Autumn leaves fallen on top of a moss covered wall. Stopping at eve...

Noticing the good things in life. What’s it all about? Here we are again… back at Mundesley for a week’s break. A valuable time out to recharge the batteries a little. All photos from phone again as the fixed camera isn’t really… it still can’t focus properly on anything but macro). Gibson had a fabulously relaxing time and there was a sofa he was allowed on! He snoozed a lot as he was out and about experiencing all kinds of new and walking more than he is used to. The garden has taken on huge growth tre...

Noticing the good things in life. What’s it all about? The View from Here. We went to visit my parents for a weekend, and as we were up in the summer when the weather was good Dad was very keen that I have the opportunity to climb up their church. Belltower. I’m not brilliant with heights so I wimped out of going to the very top, but I did enjoy the views from the main roof level. It was a beautiful summer evening so the views across the village were stunning – full of warm sunshine and gentle light.

Noticing the good things in life. What’s it all about? Whilst my camera remains broken we did dig out our very first digital camera, but that turned out to be so old that disappointingly the phone took better pictures! However, despite still being limited to photos from the phone there have been some interesting views whilst out walking Gibson. We did have an ulterior motive for that walk on that day which was to tire him out. We had friends coming round for dinner in the evening, one of whom is nerv...
