Rest Stops

It's a long way to float in one sitting, over 8 miles as the river flows, so rest stops along the way are welcome. There are four official stops managed by the Parks and Recreation Department of Boise along the route between Barber Park and Ann Morrison Park. As managed public parks they include typical facilities including toilets and trash collection. In order starting from the south the stops are:. Marden Bridge - immediately on the right after River Quarry is the popular Baybrook Court Bridge site.

Boise River Float Take Out. The end of your river floating trip is at Ann Morrison Park . Just 6 miles along the lazy river the float takes about two hours from put in to take out. Once you have past the islands and see the Old railroad Bridge you know your time is almost up and should start drifting towards the left side of the river. Restrooms are also located in the park. Remember, no glass containers are allowed on the river and no alcoholic beverages are permitted either. Consider spending some time...
Shuttle busses back to Barber Park

There are shuttles busses from the Ann Morrison Park which are organized by Epley's, the company that provides tube/raft rentals in the park. Basically when you have completed your float, which takes about 1 and a half to two hours, depending on how the river is running and if you paddle with or against it of course, you get out at the steps at Ann Morrison Park. You have to get out before the dam. Be prepared to get out on the left as you near the bridge. Https:/ adacounty.id.gov/Parks-Waterways.

Parking at Barber Park. Parking facilities are strictly limited and during the summer peak floating season there will not be enough parking spaces. Note that the park closely promptly at sunset and you will not be able to retrieve your car until the next day if you arrive after sunset. Try to get a ride to the park and do not park in nearby streets. There are no-parking fines in residential streets near the park. Consider cycling along the Boise Greenbelt Trail to make a whole day outing!

The park is open every day through the year from morning to late in the day. The car park is closed at when the park closes so make sure to check the details of the closing time when you arrive. Times for the airstation and the rentals vary, please check with the park website linked below for full details. Early morning is the best time to view wildlife.
