No Critics Allowed: September 2011
http://nocriticsallowed.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 21, 2011. What's better than hanging out with bums and hipsters in the LES. Hanging out UNDER bums and hipsters in the LES! Hipsters above the Low-Line are contemplating opening an American Apparel Underground. An architect, a money manager and an executive (not the beginning of white-collar joke) created the master plan calling it the "Delancey Underground"; however writers and bloggers are dubbing it the "Low-Line". Sunday, September 18, 2011. The steak and eggs are delish! There's...

Avenue B/Clinton Street: New York Songlines
http://www.nysonglines.com/avb.htm
Clinton Street was named for George Clinton, a general in the Revolutionary War who was the first governor of New York State- from 1777 to 1795, and again from 1801 to 1804. He served as U.S. vice president from 1804 until his death in 1812. Formerly Warren Street, it was renamed for the governor in 1792. In The Death and Life of Great American Cities. EAST 14TH STREET = = E. The northern boundary of the East Village. Pretty hip for a bar that's been around since the 1970s. Corner (600 E 14th):. At this ...

http://gatonyc.blogspot.com/2008/08/birthday-part-deux.html
My social travails in NYC and beyond. New York, New York, United States. Born in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Grew up on a farm outside of Statesboro, GA (about 45 miles northwest of Savannah). Graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens. Moved to Manhattan in March 1995 - currently living in East Village/Alphabet City. Am addicted to lip gloss. Love hot weather - even humidity! Prefer to be barefoot. Have an extensive collection of very tiny handbags. Really dislike cars and driving.

No Critics Allowed: Downtown Eatin'
http://nocriticsallowed.blogspot.com/2011/09/downtown-eatin.html
Sunday, September 18, 2011. My picks for a light to moderate priced budget. The steak and eggs are delish! Also try the Chilaquiles! I am a huge fan of the complimentary cinnamon chips that are served as a brunch-only item. There are two locations. Be prepared to wait at the West Village location but there's usually no problem getting a table at the larger East Village location. Best Market Greens Brunch. Get the "Wake and Bake"! Never had a Vietnamese sandwich? This place has a very european, rustic fla...

My life in New England...: Weekend recap
http://thebanktress.blogspot.com/2009/11/weekend-recap.html
Tuesday, November 3, 2009. The Patriots had a bye week this week so Ian had Friday and Saturday off work. We decided to head to New York for the weekend to visit his family and spend Halloween there. Apparently his family has a tradition of spaghetti and meatballs for Halloween (random, but delicious! We got there around 6:30 and planned to meet a couple of friends in the city for dinner so we had to get ready quickly and run out the door. We met them at a place called Barbone. Ian and his dad. Sunday, I...

A few new things in my life. Sunday, January 27, 2008. And The Winner Is. I have just learned how to add a poll to my site. In honor of us seeing "No Country For Old Men" last night, the first poll will be Oscar-related (we are striving to see each of the nominations for Best Picture before the big night, at which time I will vote). Stay tuned - after next Sunday the poll will be your favorite Super Bowl commercial (of which I am biased of course - I happen to think a certain drink spot should win).
