Friday, May 3, 2013. How about your jacket. Get it together because we are going on a journey to 1980, a time of rainbows, seagulls and Roller Boogie. This was an egg that came up when I was working on some round geometric rainbow designs, similar to the Rainbow Brite. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Katyegg Design: Friday Egg: Prickly Pear Cactus
http://katyegg.blogspot.com/2013/06/friday-egg-prickly-pear-cactus.html
Friday, June 28, 2013. Friday Egg: Prickly Pear Cactus. I've been working on a series that I will talk about at another time, but out of it has come a design that I am really happy with and will be pursuing further in the future I'm sure. This is a fun design to look at and a fun design to create, with all the bubbly cactus ears and spines traveling up the egg. The greens are different values of Key Lime. And the pink of the cactus flowers is Rhodamine. Have a great weekend! June 29, 2013 at 1:26 AM.

Friday, August 2, 2013. Friday Egg: Simple Design, Muted Colors. A simple egg for Friday Egg this week. I started with a brown chicken egg, waxed and then etched with vinegar to the cream colored background. Then it sat in my box of eggs in progress for a couple of years while I worked on other things and then the day came when it landed in my hand and I finished it! I like how this little egg turned out, with the muted New Mexican colors looking a little sun-baked piece of pottery. Links to this post.

Friday, August 9, 2013. Friday Egg: Summer Sunset Persian Flowers. Happy Friday, everyone! Hot summer day colors to me are reds, oranges and yellows. Today is an especially hot summer day here in Texas (104 degrees Fahrenheit! And in honor of that, I offer a basket of flowers in summer sunset colors inspired by the colors and stylized shapes of Persian carpet florals. I started with a goose egg dyed with Goldenrod. Katyegg Design: What I Did On My Summer Vacation

Friday, June 21, 2013. What I Did On My Summer Vacation. There's been a scarcity of posts lately and I am busily trying to remedy that, but right now I don't have any good eggs that I want to document or publicize. I do have a lot of ideas in progress though so please stay tuned. I was also delayed by a couple of trips and the death of my beloved cat Blanca. Adios, friend. It was lovely to have you around. Symmetrical plant that I want to try to recreate in an egg design. Another mountain by Maroon Bells.

Friday, May 31, 2013. Viernes Huevo: Cabeza Encogada. Buenos dias, amigos. A Dia de los Muertos egg for you today. I started with black outlines on a goose eggshell, then washed the egg back down to white with Ivory soap and a vinegar bath to etch it just a bit. then dyed it with the brightest and most contrasting colors because I wanted it to really pop! Katyegg Design: Friday Egg: June Wedding
http://katyegg.blogspot.com/2013/07/friday-egg-june-wedding.html
Friday, July 5, 2013. Friday Egg: June Wedding. This is an etched goose egg in the simple white of the shell with a robin's-egg blue background, achieved with a very quick dip in Patina. Dye I really love how this turned out, delicate but with a nice color contrast. I worried a lot about that correct intensity. Too bright and it would not have the effect I wanted of an elegant lace overlay. I think the color achieves this perfectly. Ahhhh that is insanely beautiful! July 6, 2013 at 9:55 AM.
