I’m now left with a bucket of wet ash, so although I’ve found a use for the ash, in the making of lye, I’m still no further forward in what to do with the ash. The only difference now is that instead of dry ash I have wet ash! The idea is to mix the clay and ash together in differing ratios let them air dry and see what we’re left with. So adding some dry ash will also add some more caustic potash.
