West Marden and West Sussex. Cosmopolitan and historical, Chichester has plenty to offer visitors of all ages. From Roman villas, art galleries, theatre, historic houses and parks and even a planetarian! The Tudor Market Cross in the centre of the four streets is a great meeting place and often the site of street musicians whilst the magnificent Norman cathedral spire is visible from miles around. For a day at the beach, West Wittering and Hayling Island are both around a half hour drive.

About West Marden Farm. West Marden Farm, in the South Downs National Park, comprises one thousand acres of arable, grassland and woodland. It has been in our family since 1947 and has changed a great deal over the years. Historically, the farm had a dairy, sheep and pigs employing ten full-time staff. Today, we solely produce combinable crops, growing winter wheat, winter oilseed rape and spring barley, employing just one fulltime member of staff.

Tuesday, 17 June 2008. Silk Paintings Of Flowers At Barleycorn. I painted the each of the flowers using 'wet-on-wet', rather than on dry silk. The background to the delphiniums was achieved by dropping colour onto wet silk; the background in the Mixed Irises, had table salt as a resist; and grains of sea salt on a wet background were used for the sunflower painting.
