Why am I not surprised? Somehow my life of late has become tangled up in Detroit. I recently dubbed it the new Pinnacle of Civilization in my humble experience, and on this Memorial Day weekend, I landed there not once, but twice (Thursday, as a ground stop on my way to work in Baltimore, Saturday as an overnight). Ahhh, commuting 889 miles. Xfoliant rinsed with sparkling water, that left my hands feeling baby-soft. I was in Salt Lake City Friday night; I resisted any advances by already-married men.

Why am I not surprised? Land of the Free, Home of the Breakfast Cereal Aisle. This morning, I drank hot coffee through a bendy straw. I succumbed to such ridiculous behavior because I am currently employing the teeth-whitening system of Crest Premium Plus. That brings me to my first point. Why are the strips Premium Plus? I mean, is this a marketing campaign for the egomaniac who thinks him- or herself just a bit. Too good for the plain old Premium strips, not to mention scoffing at the Classic strips?

Why am I not surprised? Though the world seems to be full of such things, let me point out the most egregious offender I have noticed of late: Hooters. Not just the fact that the so-called 'restaurant' exists at all, but the even scarier fact that they now offer to-go food. A mini-menu is pictured at right in lieu of me linking to their trashy website. Does anyone else understand the magnitude of absurdity that is Hooters to-go? Why am I not surprised? Falling off the Face of the Earth. It has been long enough. I have so much to say, but always find thoughts hard to recall when I actually have an internet connection.
