I just finished The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnson. Maybe that was the point. I'm not really sure what the author wanted me to take away from this story. Scraps From The Barn. Sunday, January 5, 2014. A New Year, A Fresh Start. I have been sewing but mostly clothes. Teeny, tiny clothes for my youngest grandkids and their dolls. It's a new year and I'm feeling inspired to get back to quilting. Our oldest grandson, Bryan, and his lovely lady Lexie will present us with our first great-grandchild in April. Maybe that's what has me interested in making quilts again. Using the blocks from an exchange last year organized by Nancy. I have the top all ready done.

Awhile ago I discovered the free scrap blocks that Lisa (of Primitive Gatherings) posts on her blog. Occasionally. They are 6" blocks with lots of teeny, tiny pieces. She has posted 12 so far. I have made 2 but intended to try them all. This week, while the weather kept me inside, I made all 12. I had trouble with this one. See how those brown corners are cut off? I really like this one. Tuesday, November 6, 2012. I am a little stiff and sore this morning. My sewing room was in desperate need of some reorganizing. I used to have my machine in this cabinet,. For some reason I decided that I didn't want to use and put my machine on this table. Bad idea! But, we did it! My room is a little more cramped now. But, I think it will be okay. Who needs tons of floor space anyway right? LOL By the way, these are the after photos. 2-I love to change my hair color every year or so! 7-I hate hot dogs!

Saturday, February 01, 2014. Oh, it isn't bad- good enough for me. Now, if I could only work up the inspiration to clean my bedroom. Id say thats pretty progress . especially while youre sick.
