Day-in-the-Life Fisher Style: November 2011
http://fisherstyle.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 5, 2011. My Openly Weeping Appreciation for Helpers. The other day I took my little brother Ed out to lunch for his birthday. He was born when I was in the 7th grade. My mom was 42, I believe, when she had Ed, her final child. She was also teaching at the same junior high I attended. I found out that my mom gave birth to a baby along with all my fellow junior high classmates and faculty. The announcement came over the intercom system:. I loved the faculty at West Minico! I know, I know...

Day-in-the-Life Fisher Style: Uncle Fred
http://fisherstyle.blogspot.com/2007/09/uncle-fred.html
Monday, September 24, 2007. Anyone who has been around my family for any period of time knows Uncle Fred (he's the one holding the binoculars in the picture above). He's one of those uncles whose first name really is "uncle." Even my friends called him "Uncle Fred.". Every year since before Steve Young took the field, Uncle Fred bought at least a dozen BYU season football tickets. Do you know how much Uncle Fred could have sold for his tickets to the 1990 BYU vs. Miami game? When Uncle Fred comes into a ...

Day-in-the-Life Fisher Style: Utah/Idaho: My two home states
http://fisherstyle.blogspot.com/2012/08/utahidaho-my-two-home-states.html
Sunday, August 26, 2012. Utah/Idaho: My two home states. As of late June, I have now lived in Utah longer than I've lived in Idaho. I moved away from my birth state of potatoes and irrigation canals to Utah County exactly 18 years ago. I love Idaho, and I love Utah. But what I've found is some Idahoans don't always love Utahans, and some Utahans think Idahoans are backwater hicks. That’s like talking about which one’s better: the New Jersey Nets or the Washington Wizards.”. Let’s be honest, western...

Day-in-the-Life Fisher Style: Drinks: The New Mormon Frontier
http://fisherstyle.blogspot.com/2013/01/drinks-new-mormon-frontier.html
Sunday, January 27, 2013. Drinks: The New Mormon Frontier. When I was a senior in high school, our church had a youth dance with a 50s theme. My brother and I thought it would be cool to go as "rebels without a cause.". We tried finding some candy cigarettes that we could roll up in our sleeves, but the store didn't carry them anymore. So we made our own fake cigarettes and rolled them in our sleeves. I've blogged before about Kulani's dinner parties. Our dinner guests brought it big time. These drin...

Day-in-the-Life Fisher Style: Choking Under Pressure
http://fisherstyle.blogspot.com/2012/02/choking-under-pressure.html
Thursday, February 9, 2012. I’m a mess when it comes to gift giving. I’m a mess when it comes to time management. And I’m a mess of a multi-tasker. These three weaknesses have come back to bite me again and again. Heaven’s way of helping me turn my weaknesses into strengths, or as my dad aptly put it to me at least 1,000 times during my formidable years: be smoothed by adversity. Let me provide you with some examples of these weaknesses. What my blog needs is more. Examples of my ineptitude, not less.

Day-in-the-Life Fisher Style: Idaho: The Gemiest State of them All
http://fisherstyle.blogspot.com/2012/08/idaho-gemiest-state-of-them-all.html
Monday, August 27, 2012. Idaho: The Gemiest State of them All. At the pre-dinner event at Ironman Texas, the announcer asked the crowd, "Let's see if I'm in the right state." Then he began to sing, "The stars are bright, they're big and bright.". To which the crowd clapped four times in unison and belted out, "Deep in the heart of Texas.". I'm not going to lie to you: I thought that was pretty cool. Being proud of one's state hits near and dear to my heart. Did you hear that? And here we have Idaho-.

Day-in-the-Life Fisher Style: KF 1-25
http://fisherstyle.blogspot.com/2008/09/kf-1-25.html
Wednesday, September 10, 2008. One of our purposes for the blog is to document things for posterity that we otherwise might not. The Fat Cyclist's wife is battling cancer and one of the things they did was to document memories of themselves so their kids would have them for later. Anyway, enough of the excuses. I'm firing off my 100 in ascending order. 1 I'm a binary person. Good thing I started with 1. 4 I never thought about being an attorney "when I grew up." Good thing I'm only kind-of an attorney.

Eldrberry Grove: May 2009
http://andyandtara.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Family faces are magic mirrors. Looking at people who belong to us, we see the past, present, and future. Friday, May 8, 2009. Yes, it says Prom. Every year a local radio station does what's called "2nd chance Prom". So Andy and I decided to kick up our heels and go have some free fun. They had dancing and food and pictures. It was such a blast, we danced so much our feet were killing us by the time midnight rolled around that it hurt to walk to the car but it was worth it! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Family faces are magic mirrors. Looking at people who belong to us, we see the past, present, and future. Monday, January 26, 2009. Chandler went on his first ice fishing excursion with Andy and his parents last week. (I of course was working). They had a blast.they weren't catching any fish for a little while and Chandler asked how come, Andy told him they were sleeping so he promptly went over to the hole bent down and yelled "Wake up fishies! Lo and behold they woke up and they caught some!
