Barry now lives and works in Jarrow on Tyneside.

Many years ago I bought an old book of monochrome transport pictures. From Robinson’s bookshop in the Grainger Arcade. Looking at the pictures I realised that, behind the main subject matter,. There was a rich supply of split second slices of the everyday. Not composed and captured arbitrarily. Some might view these small corners of our world as bleak and vacuous – Whereas I find them mysterious and intriguing. If you allow yourself to believe that. Each moment is an undiscovered country.
