Wednesday was brilliant weather,. But Thursday was a bit cooler. We stayed later on Thursday night in the hope of seeing the spitfires, but sadly they did not appear over Bridlington. I took these pictures of gulls on the beach whilst we waited. It was too late to hand the key back so I went to Bridlington to hand in the key.

Sunday, 26 April 2015. Sunday afternoon at Blacktoft Sands. I met Chris at Blacktoft Sands at 2pm. He had been to Ousefleet hide in the hope of seeing a curlew sandpiper and a red necked phalarope, neither of which could be seen. We then visited the rest of the hides, and saw marsh harriers from each one. And it appeared to us that the harriers were always giving a better display in front of the next hide! However we were wrong! A walk around St.Aidans. Reed buntings were busy flying about in the reeds.

Monday, 30 March 2015. Sunday afternoon at Blacktoft Sands. The RSPB Members weekend was over , how quickly the weekend goes! Time for some birding so I decided to go to Blacktoft to see the avocets. In the car park a robin and chaffinch were waiting to greet me! My first stop was at Ousefleet hide from where I could see, shelduck, teal, gadwall and greylag geese. Monday, 31 August 2015. Duart Castle, Tobermory and a white tailed sea eagle. The weather was not brilliant this morning and so we did not leave for Duart Castle until mid morning. A few more vehicles on the road today, but it is fairly quiet, as is the bird life. Only saw one buzzard on the whole journey, but greylag geese seem to be everywhere. This summer I did a painting expedition to Qinghai, a largely Tibetan province in north western China. There was a Buddhist festival taking place with a temporary tent town of tens of thousands of Tibetans. There were some great compositions with the brightly colored clothing and tents.
