My first creation… margarita. 2 cups heavy cream. 8 lg egg yolks. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 cup half and half. 1/4 cup clear tequila (I used cabo wabo). 1/4 cup lime juice. 1 1/2 Tbsp amber agave nectar. 1 to 2 tsp Cointreau (depending on preference). Ice cream has always been a culinary weakness of mine, but it wasn’t until I received an ice cream maker for Christmas that I thought of an exciting possibility… adult beverages (wine, cocktails, beer, etc.) in ice cream form. Bartender a la mode. Adventures in booze and ice cream. I’m currently using a stainless steel “ Pure Indulgence. My only “complaint” is that it’s pretty loud. However I would expect any machine to make some noise and I haven’t compared it with anything else so I couldn’t say if it was better/worse than the average machine. Call me old-fashioned, anti-feminist, or too conventional, but it was a dream come true when my husband bought me a KitchenAid. I would love to get the ice cream maker attachment.

Bartender a la mode. Adventures in booze and ice cream. And it began…. Well… I knew I was in trouble when I tried an amazing wine ice cream recipe from Food and Wine. Not only was it delicious but it melted into every piece of my little bartending heart. Why hadn’t I thought of this before? I also knew that one recipe by itself would not be able to satisfy me forever. Am I hard to please? Of course not. Do I appreciate ice cream of almost any flavor? Women cannot live by one flavor of ice cream alone.
