Wednesday, February 25, 2009. Office.check, bathroom.check. The toilet fiasco. The last major portion of the bathroom was purchasing and installing a toilet. We decided on a 6L. That included everything you need except the water supply line. I've had the toilet flange on for a while, and just had an old dish towel stuffed down the pipe to keep the sewer gases out. Monday, April 28, 2008. I put a hole in my house. So I finally got up the courage to go ahead and make a hole in the side of my house to put the exhaust vent in. Once I slid the vent in, I sealed up all the edges with silicone from the outside, and expanding spray foam on the inside. I ran a small piece of rigid duct to get into the bulkhead, then a few elbows and a straight run over to the furnace room. Here is where I transitioned to flexible duct in order to get around the furnace and up to the vent.
