Since there was a brief description of what was burned onto many archive disks, it was possible to narrow down the number of possible disks to a handful. While searching for them, I spotted these. And was immediately intrigued as I had no recollection of ever having used gold coloured DVD blanks. Need another reason to backup?

Back in the mid 1970's there existed a group known as the Vancouver Area N Scalers (VANS) whose members constructed modules which were involved in one of the first N Scale track exhibits in the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) convention in San Diego, California believed to be in 1974. Effectively, the modules are tables which are clamped together forming large N scale model train layouts at conventions, shopping malls, and other suitable locations. The basic dimensions are:. Module legs are fitted with adjustment bolts to allow adjustment to match floor conditions. Modules may also be built in 2', 6', 8' lengths, and some members have built matched modules with custom rail connections at the inner faces.
