Texas Rangers Cards: May 2015
http://rangerscards.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Collecting the Texas Rangers. Thursday, May 28, 2015. Rangers return home triumphant. Today's card really has no connection to the topic of this post. It brings back memories for me though. Mike Stanley signed this 1989 Donruss card through the mail for me back in the early 1990's. It was one of the first through the mail success I had. Not yet and they may not be one this year. They are playing much better ball than a few weeks ago though and at least may be able to avoid the AL West cellar. Not all the...
Texas Rangers Cards: Senators Saturday - Cisco Carlos, 1970.
http://rangerscards.blogspot.com/2015/08/senators-saturday-cisco-carlos-1970.html
Collecting the Texas Rangers. Saturday, August 8, 2015. Senators Saturday - Cisco Carlos, 1970. Francisco Manuel Carlos came to Washington in August of 1969 after the Senators purchased his contract from the White Sox. Not sure why he appears hatless in his ChiSox jersey on card 487 of the 1970 Topps set. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Chicken Fried Baseball (Rangers). The Fleer Sticker Project. Texas Rangers Cards: Minor League Monday - David Lynch, 1990 CMC.
http://rangerscards.blogspot.com/2015/08/minor-league-monday-david-lynch-1990-cmc.html
Collecting the Texas Rangers. Monday, August 10, 2015. Minor League Monday - David Lynch, 1990 CMC. The Rangers drafted pitcher David Lynch in the 22nd round of the June, 1987 draft. He started his pro career the same year with the Gulf Coast Rangers in the Rookie League. By 1989 Lynch, shown here on card 154 of the 1990 CMC set, reached Double A Tulsa. He would split the 1989 season between Double and Triple A. That started a pattern that ran for several years. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Pu...

Texas Rangers Cards: July 2015
http://rangerscards.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Collecting the Texas Rangers. Thursday, July 30, 2015. Well, I was saving card 83 from the 2013 Topps Heritage Minor League set for the day Jorge Alfaro earned his spot as the Rangers starting catcher. That's not going to happen now it seems. The Rangers have pulled off their biggest trade since bringing in Cliff Lee in 2010. Links to this post. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. 1979 Topps - Jim Sundberg. Jim Sundberg, shown here on card 120 of the 1979 Topps set, had firmly established himself as the Rangers star...
Texas Rangers Cards: August 2015
http://rangerscards.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Collecting the Texas Rangers. Saturday, August 29, 2015. Senators Saturday - Joe Coleman, 1970. Joe Coleman's sporting the windbreaker under the jersey look on card 127 of the 1970 Topps set. He's also sporting an unusual look on his face. Is he disgusted with the pitch he just faked for the photographer or is he trying to look intimidating? Apparently the Detroit Tigers saw Joe's potential. They got him included in the disastrous Denny McLain trade in October of 1970 along with Jim Hannan, Ed Brinkm...
Texas Rangers Cards: March 2015
http://rangerscards.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Collecting the Texas Rangers. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. 1979 Topps - Reggie Cleveland. In a continuance of the trend, Reggie Cleveland was no longer a Texas Ranger by the time card 209 of the 1979 Topps set was issued. Seems like that's been the case for most of the cards from the 1979 Topps set I've posted to this point. The Rangers purchased Cleveland's contract from the Red Sox on April 18, 1978. Strictly a reliever, Reggie would appear in 53 games for Texas over the course of the season. Over 497 plat...
Texas Rangers Cards: Back in the hunt.
http://rangerscards.blogspot.com/2015/08/back-in-hunt.html
Collecting the Texas Rangers. Thursday, August 6, 2015. Back in the hunt. I don't have any signed or game-used cards of Nick Martinez, Chris Gimenez, or any of the other guys who contributed to the Rangers win last night. Guess you'll have to settle for this signed 1997 Donruss Rusty Greer card. Of course, settling and Rusty Greer don't really go in the same sentence. August 6, 2015 at 11:39 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Chicken Fried Baseball (Rangers). The Fleer Sticker Project. Senators Satu...
Texas Rangers Cards: February 2015
http://rangerscards.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Collecting the Texas Rangers. Saturday, February 28, 2015. Senators Saturday - Dick Bosman, 1969. Future Rangers pitching coach Dick Bosman appears today on card 607 of the 1969 Topps set. This card is a little beat up but it's a high number and so difficult to find at an affordable price. Links to this post. Friday, February 27, 2015. One of those cards was this 2004 National Trading Card Day #DP-4 card of Alfonso Soriano. Not sure if this is a Donruss Classics card or part of a set all its own but ...
Texas Rangers Cards: Back in the game.
http://rangerscards.blogspot.com/2015/08/back-in-game.html
Collecting the Texas Rangers. Thursday, August 13, 2015. Back in the game. So, after taking a little over a year off from through the mail autograph requests, I'm back at it. I recently sent out two batches of requests to current and former Rangers players. Now comes the wait to see who responds and what comes back. Hopefully I will have some more recent successes to share with you in the near future. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Chicken Fried Baseball (Rangers). The Fleer Sticker Project. I colle...

Baseball Card Prospector
Buy Cards On EBAY. Top Catching Prospect — Jorge Alfaro. February 11, 2014. After injuries hampered Alfaro’s 2012 season, he played in a career-high number of games in 2013 and didn’t disappoint. He was an international free agent in 2010 from Columbia and over a short period of time has skyrocketed up the prospect rankings now ranked as either the #1 or #2 catching prospect, ahead of or behind Austin Hedges. So what’s behind his meteoric rise? This post has no tag. Permanent link to this article:. Sorry...
