Saturday, 31 October 2009. Base camp not bust - 5358 m. This afternoon we made it to base camp. It has been an emotional couple of days for many in the team. Yesterday was tough, trying to climb to 4,900m whilst battling the effects of altitude and gastro problems. So far, I've been lucky, nagging headache that feels like fighting a constant migraine, but nothing much beyond that. Fingers crossed, it stays that way.
