The beauty of the fake stuff is that (a) it doesn’t melt, (b) with the right scoop it ‘barks’ better than the real thing I’ll get to that in a minute, and (c) it keeps in your cupboard forever. Here is the recipe that I use for fake ice cream:. 1/2 cup corn syrup (such as Karo or White Lily). 1/2 cup vegetable shortening (such as Crisco).

Basil, garlic and rosemary. Basil, garlic and rosemary. March 12, 2017. Yesterday we went to check out the street food festival held at the local coal mine, that is no longer in operation. My dad used to work here, so it was neat to see the grounds again, and being repurposed. This cheesesteak was nothing like your typical American cheesesteaks, but the chipotle mayo put it over the top! The dim sum was filled with chicken and veggies, topped with soy sauce, fish sauce and truffle! Wow, it was devine.

Basil Lime Gimlet
The basil lime gimlet is the best drink in the universe. 1 part simple syrup. 2 parts fresh squeezed lime juice. 1 fistful of basil. Mix in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake extra to be sure that the basil gets mashed by the ice to release flavour. Serve in a cocktail glass with a basil leaf garnish.
