My name is Jana Hellbusch. I relocated from Houston to Bastrop in 2000 and absolutely love it here! For the past ten years I have been an active volunteer in the Bastrop Community. Currently I serve on the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce Board, the Opportunity Bastrop County Healthcare Committee, and am chairing the Red, White and Blue Veterans of Bastrop County Committee for a second year.

This year’s Red, White and Blue Veterans Banquet will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010. We are proud to announce our speaker will be Jay Kimbrough. You may recognize his name. He is one of two advisors recently appointed by Governor Rick Perry to develop a plan to reconstruct the Texas Department of Transportation. Kimbrough’s focus at the Veterans Banquet will be on his Vietnam service as a Marine and the quest he has been on as a private citizen to memorialize Vietnam Veterans.
