What's Happening in the Museum? The Bayfield Heritage Associaton. BHA was established in 1974 as the Bayfield Historical Society. It is a not for profit 501 (c) (3) corporation. Our mission is to share the history and culture of the Bayfield area. Major Accomplishments IN THE pAST 40 yEARS. 1974 - Began as the Bayfield Historical Society. 1977 - Raised funds to save the Old Bayfield County Courthouse. 1985 - Commissioned the historic musical. Which is presented at Big Top Chautauqua.
