We are 1 mile from the Long Island Railroad, Stony Brook station, which is on Route 25-A. From the station, go west to the traffic light at The Museums at the bottom of hill, and proceed as above. Take AirTrain directly from your terminal to the Long Island Rail Road's Jamaica Station (approx. 15 minutes). Then take the LIRR's Port Jefferson branch line to Stony Brook (approx. 1 hour). Then take a taxi to the Bed and Breakfast (2 minutes). Long Island Rail Road. Arrange at least two days in advance.

The distinctive Main House and Great Barn were built circa 1881 by D. T. Bayles, one of Long Island s premier shipbuilders and lumber-yard owners. The Bayles family dominated Long Island s large sailing-ship industry for more than a century. D.T. in fact began but was unable to complete the construction of the world s largest ship. Monday, January 18, 2010. We loved Halloween this year (and every other too)! Edi was a dainty purple flower and Ila the busy bee. They cleaned up and looked cute doing it! We did all the traditional fun things: carved pumpkins, had a small Halloween party where we made cookies and colored skeletons. Lately she wants to fix everything. She takes Wes' screwdrivers and finds anything with a screw and "fixes" it. She did this at her Grandma and Grandpa's a little bit ago and they got the idea to get her her own tool box for her birthday. It's so funny! Wednesday, March 17, 2010. WHAT KEEPS HIM ALIVE. So I have to say, that this terrible twos thing is ROUGH! The few moments of Beckham being such a cute little thing are what keep him alive :) Here is one of those, "I guess I can keep you alive for a little while longer" moments :). If he struggled or fell he would say, "I sorry," or "Oh NO! He was being pretty dang cute! His little leg would get so far behind the scooter,. But he was still doing so good!
