Serious (Very) Serious Stuff! We kept finding bits and pieces of fish, squirrel, rabbit and such under this one tree in the yard. We were wondering who could be cleaning fish and small game while driving 60 miles per hour. Then we saw this handsome bird roosting in the very same tree eating a fish. Mystery solved! Mardi Gras in Houma! It's very family friendly, a much calmer environment than New Orleans. The locals know this, appreciate it, and work very hard to keep that way. Throw me somethin' Mista!

Serious (Very) Serious Stuff! On The Serious Side. If you're thinking about coming for a visit between June and November, you might want to first check here. South Louisiana is a sub tropical climate, with everything that implies. Winters tend to be mild, summers hot, and humidity is always plentiful. Multitudinous mosquitoes around dawn and dusk. Thunderstorms, almost a daily occurrence during the summer time. And yes, from time to time we even get the odd tornado that wasn't generated by a hurricane.
