Jon Rascher's Old Blog. Not being updated since October 2007. The Blog Is Dead, but It’s Not Forgotten. January 5, 2011. Comments Off on The Blog Is Dead, but It’s Not Forgotten. The 39 months that have elapsed since my last post should make it clear that this blog is rather dead. I think I’ll leave this site up for now (for posterity, I suppose), but I won’t be posting any new content here. However, I have started blogging again. Check out Jonathan Rascher’s new Web site. For some more recent content.

Media Matters: Youtube and iTunes
http://themediablogoflaura.blogspot.com/2011/03/youtube-and-itunes.html
Saturday, March 5, 2011. I often listen to music on Youtube- it's free and easy to find. Recently, I noticed that at the bottom of the video, Youtube is starting to provide a link to iTunes and Amazon.com so that the viewers can find an MP3 of the song to purchase. At least it is helpful to Youtube users not having to search for the songs on their own. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome to my blog! Check out the blog roll for my classmate's blogs! Media Matters: Helen Keller?
http://themediablogoflaura.blogspot.com/2011/03/helen-keller.html
Wednesday, March 2, 2011. I was browsing Freakonomics, and I came across this article about Helen Keller. Apparently schools don't think it is necessary to teach about Helen Keller anymore. Granted, as the article points out, she was a socialist.but that doesn't seem to stop schools from teaching about other socialists. Labels: children and the internet. March 4, 2011 at 4:52 PM. Its hard to think of better example to teach kids about the tremendous resilience of the human psyche. Welcome to my blog!

Media Matters: A Royal Wedding in the Digital Era
http://themediablogoflaura.blogspot.com/2011/03/royal-wedding-in-digital-era.html
Monday, March 7, 2011. A Royal Wedding in the Digital Era. As Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot, there is, of course, a lot of excitement going around (on both sides of the pond). For one, they've started a website. Containing all sorts of information about the blessed event. What struck me as slightly odd about the website was the fact that you can get Twitter updates. Still, it should be an interesting show as they try to use the media to their advantage in publicizing this joyous event!

Media Matters: January 2011
http://themediablogoflaura.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 29, 2011. Today I came across this article. Which describes the first application for the iPhone to receive an imprimatur! For those of you who aren't Catholic:. Fr John Hardon's Modern Catholic Dictionary. This new iPhone app, although it isn't the first of its kind, apparently includes "a step-by-step guide to the sacrament" as well as an examination of conscience. I think the appearance of this new app is a sign of our changing times - both good and bad. And a plethora of Gregorian c...
