Beer Guide in 1997 as a way to learn how to develop websites, while creating something that I thought might be of interest to fellow beer enthusiasts. This is purely a 'hobby'. Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Sumpin's Up with the Wacky Hops. Last time I had a Lagunitas it was the weird Brown Shugga. Lovely stuff, but I'm a cantankerous type and I'm going to whine about the label. There's a trend these days to add a jaunty twist to ingredient lists, and it is cheesy and boring. "Hops, Malt, Hops, Hops, Yeast, Hops, Water, and Hops" reads the label. Haha. How WACKY! To their cute ingredient icons. But for every Perpetual IPA. There's a dozen that are less-than-inspired: Hop Circle.

Monday, May 28, 2012. Halifax, NS Beer Scene Roundup. I am in Halifax for work. Rather than process my notes, it is probably just as instructive to post them in their entirety:-. Halifax beer notes: Day One. 3oz samplers followed by a pint of the red). Decent, malty, casked with usual character. Bit thin. Not bitter. As above but dry-hopped with fuggles. Rookie of the Year Award. Rookie of the Year Award. The BC Beer Awards and Festival celebrates the very best craft beer brewed in British Columbia. Last year's SOLD OUT event took place on October 15th at The Croatian Cultural Centre. 30 categories were awarded in the awards ceremony.
