Wednesday, 15 September 2010. Why are ratings/audience figures so important? Scheduels may not work for some channels so by finding out the ratings they can change it. If a company needs to sell a show ratings from the audience figures will tell if the pilot for the show is any good therefore not wasting money. TV stations want to find out what is successful and get the magic formula to make a new show. We think that the most effect advertising technique would be a mix between contextual and pop up.
