A Traveler's Log: October 2008

We wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfillment." - Hilaire Belloc. Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Maybe if there are enough people out there who complain about it things will change. Until then, the boycott is on! Sunday, October 5, 2008. In about a week, my loves will change. I like nothing better than to curl up on my couch with the lights out and watch a marathon of horror movies. Pumpkin carving, apple cider, trick-or-treaters and candy corn are just icing on the cake! I am Ian: July 2009
http://babyvandervort.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Ian has been out of his crib for almost 2 weeks. He hasn't really skipped a beat. He even slept really well while we were gone over the weekend. We stayed in Dianne's pop-up camper on Friday and Saturday nights. Ian didn't nap well in there, but he did sleep all night both nights. It is a relief to have a relatively good experience after such a disastrous camping trip 2 weeks ago. Sunday, July 19, 2009. Gone are the baby days. There are no more remnants of the nursery. And now, in...

We wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfillment." - Hilaire Belloc. Wednesday, September 22, 2010. OK, so I know I'm way overdue catching up on all of the trips we took this summer. I have friends visiting this area soon, so I wanted to get these up. Also, I'm trying to play catch-up this week. Hopefully by the end of it, my blog will be updated, my expense reports caught up, and a fall vacation will be booked! High hopes, I know but a girl can dream can't she? We also really enjoyed Duck! All i...

A Traveler's Log: June 2010
http://georgiawaltons.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
We wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfillment." - Hilaire Belloc. Wednesday, June 16, 2010. The "I really love my job" weekend. I've been working a lot lately. I'm in the midst of a crazy 2nd quarter schedule and honestly I forget where I am from one week to the next. On these trips I haven't had as much time as I would like to explore the areas I've visited. Last weekend was entirely different! It's like a mini city! I loved everything about it! The town was so cute! Talk about a quintessenti...

Jackson’s Tongue | Cary and the Boys
https://caryandtheboys.wordpress.com/2014/08/04/jacksons-tongue
Cary and the Boys. Citizen of the Month. Summer 2014 →. August 4, 2014. Memorial Weekend- adults are on the porch relaxing after a nice barbecue dinner, their boys and our boys out front happily playing street hockey…win-win for everyone until Jackson comes in screaming with blood pouring out of his mouth. Nothing says “party over” like rushing a kid to the ER! In playing hockey, we. Here is a pic of his stitched up tongue…obviously a day or two later when he was feeling better! I am a full-time mommy to...

School and baseball | Cary and the Boys

Cary and the Boys. Summer Ends with a Bang! We have a black belt in the house! November 5, 2014. The boys have had a great start to the school year. Ryan is loving third grade, and loves his teacher- a 20-something year old redhead named Miss Buttery. He has a very well behaved class and has done so well academically. I’m so pleased at how well he’s done this year. Both boys played baseball this season. OK- here it is: I HATE BASEBALL. There. I said it. View all posts by caryandtheboys →. Fill in your de...

Cary and the Boys. School and baseball →. Summer Ends with a Bang! August 31, 2014. Alas, the summer is ending as we head to our first back to school night to meet their teachers this week. Open house is a few days later, and school is officially back in 1 week, right after Labor Day weekend. Helps to have Daddy helping out, but both boys played great! They both brought home trophies and were so proud! He worked very hard this semester for his red belt- I’m so proud of him! I am a full-time mommy to an a...

Baseball and hockey | Cary and the Boys
https://caryandtheboys.wordpress.com/2015/04/29/baseball-and-hockey
Cary and the Boys. We have a black belt in the house! Jacksonisms and Ryan’s baseball →. April 29, 2015. The boys are obsessed with two things these days- hockey and baseball. They watch the Capitols and Nationals on TV religiously and when they aren’t watching them, they are playing hockey (at home) or baseball on their baseball teams. Sibling rivalry/jealousy/etc is at an all time high around here these days. Something tells me I’ll be dealing with it for the next 15 years…. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
