1 person, 39 marathons, the perimetre of Wales. Ch ch ch ch ch Changes…. June 1, 2016. I’m well aware that I have been guilty of blog neglect. It’s not due to laziness (far from it! It’s not due to having nothing to say (I’m never lost for words! It is purely due to me taking some time to take stock and prioritise my thoughts! Those thoughts will be shared in more regular posts! Some have called me weird, some immature (a 9 year old! I strongly believe that any strength of mind I have shown in the past i...

Chicken Running: January 2014
http://lejog2014.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Ramblings of a distance runner in a chicken suit. Saturday, 4 January 2014. Something going on around here. Pain Time on Box Hill. 4 days in to 2014 and I've bagged 6 PBs from 5k to half marathon. This was meant to be the post-Christmas get-back-to-training month. Not PBs. Not that I'm complaining. It probably has something to do with a conversation I had with Robbie Britton. On their latest (and very excellent) free training day on Box Hill. One thing is certain. After realising that I was on the wr...

Ultra Marathon & Trail Running: December 2008
http://ultramarathonrunning.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Beginnings, bad guts and below freezing temperatures at the Brecon Beacons Ultra (47 miles). This was my first Ultra Marathon, I learned a lot of things from this race. Not just the immensity of the distance but the great camaraderie that accompanies Ultra Running. With great encouragement from Mike Adams and Dave Finch, we trudged over rocky mountains, where streams were now covered in ice - on top and below the water! Marathon des Sable 2009. 30th March - 3rd April 2009, Sahara Desert, Morocco. In 2009 I achieved a life long ambition to complete the Marathon des Sable. I think the write up would take forever to read and may bore you to tears, it was however a very personal event for me therefore as a get out I have compiled a slideshow of events. Come backs, Cut offs and Switch backs. South Downs Way Race (103 miles). 8216;I don't know what I want.’ I was sitting in a chair in the shade at the 96 mile checkpoint on the South Downs Way Race. It was hot and I had been going for around 28 hours and was finding it hard to make a decision on the simplest things. ‘So do you want tea, coffee or soup’ was the question Ruth (my wife) was asking. 8217; I thought about it for a minute and said ‘yeah, why not! 8217;I shouted. ‘Yeah, Yeah. fine&...8217; ̵...
